Why should you donate blood?
For starters, every two seconds someone in the US needs blood.
Why is blood needed?
Cancer, anemia, hemophilia, kidney disease, liver disease, the list of diseases that require blood transfusions go on, not to mention injuries that involve severe blood loss. If patients that have these diseases or lose lots of blood don’t receive compatible blood in time, they could die.
What can you do to help?
The best way to help. Your blood could possibly save up to 3 lives.
Educate Yourself and Share
Many people do not know that there is a shortage of blood in blood banks. Even if you are not qualified for donation, you can help to get qualified people to donate.
Regardless of blood donation eligibility, you can still save lives through directly donating funds to BloodworksNW.
Starting your own blood drive
We are a group of Asian American high school students from the Puget Sound Area. Under the guidance of former mayor and current city councilman Conrad Lee, we’ve created this project with the sole purpose of increasing blood donor ship.
